A Gala Evening Supporting the Persecuted Church

Saturday, October 26th
Royal Palace Banquet Hall

7845 Edmonds St., Burnaby, BC V3N 1B9

Keynote Speaker: Esteemed Iranian Christian Leader Rev. Edward Hovsepian-Mehr

Edward Hovsepian-Mehr is a revered figure within the Iranian Christian community, esteemed as the patriarch of the Global Iranian Church. Born in poverty with significant challenges, Edward came to Christ and dedicated his life in service at the age of 13.

In 1994, Edward’s brother, Haik, a church planter and evangelist in Iran was martyred for his bold and stalwart promotion of the gospel. He was an inspiration to Edward, who has built a fruitful legacy as a pastor, evangelist, educator, author and a driving force to establish the underground church in Iran. Edward currently leads this movement from London, England.

In 1995, the membership of Underground Churches stood at a few hundred individuals. Now, after 29 years, this number has surged to hundreds of thousands, with many estimating millions, as every member has converted from Islam to Christianity. More than 200 individuals are actively engaged in evangelism, teaching, discipleship, and serving various groups within Iran. Christianity is experiencing clandestine growth and expansion throughout the country. Edward’s colleagues in Iran affirm that when they evangelize to ten individuals, six to seven are eager to accept Jesus Christ. Among Islamic nations, Iran stands out as uniquely prepared and receptive to the Gospel.

On behalf of the House of Omeed, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Edward Hovsepian-Mehr for his esteemed service and the establishment of underground churches in Iran. These churches serve as a beacon of hope and enlightenment, offering a path to awakening for the people of the country. We invoke the blessings of the Lord upon Edward, his family, and his ministry, as they continue to spread the light of faith and hope in Iran and beyond.
